Modelling Fundamentals with Energy Quantified

Webinar, 17 September

Are you looking to simplify data sourcing?
Are you in need of scalable data solutions to model price-driving fundamentals?
Or are you just curious about EQ’s approach to hydrology modelling?
This webinar covers the key factors impacting prices in the European power markets, and how EQ curates data and optimises modelling.
We are looking forward to seeing you on 17 September!

13.00 - 13.45 EQ’s spot model: What’s unique and how do you benefit the most from it?
• How to identify the marginal bidding curves and incorporate these into spot modelling
• How to simulate and monitor spot market sensitivities + practical user examples
• Learning the difference between ensemble spot modelling and market sensitivities
• Simulating and monitoring price spreads to neighbouring countries/price areas
• Recent experiences with our spot market model

13.50 - 14.00 Break

14.00 - 14.50 EQ’s hydrology modelling: How does it differ from other approaches?
• Why do we argue that it, in many respects, it is superior to other models?
• Which user-focused improvements are in the pipeline?
• Results so far and evaluation of the uncertainties

14.50 - 15.00 Break

15.00 - 15.50 Time-saving tools you should know about
• REMIT: From chaos to order. You are 5 – 10 minutes away from receiving a data feed covering just the power units you wish to follow. Learn how to get curated data with minimum effort. Follow up with a Q&A about the data feed, either in the plenary or in private.
• OHLC feed for price areas of your own choice: learn how you – on the fly – may pull the SRMC, spark- and dark-spreads with your assumptions on efficiency, currency rates, emission factors etc.
• Avoid bloating your database: Learn how to link up your developer tools, models, or prototypes with EQs deep database with a minimum effort, specifically for:
o Excel users
o API/Client users
• Looking to grow your business into new countries? We have all had our development ambitions cut short due to a lack of data. Learn how EQ has removed this technical and commercial obstacle
• Fundamental Climate as a service: EQ runs 40 weather years through our fundamental model, using the new ERA5 data set. Learn how you can best use this in an exceptionally time-efficient way.
• Quō vādis? Get a quick overview of what EQ is planning to develop – and why – in the year to come.

The course will be held in English
